

PEARL BEULAH MALSTROM (Age 85)
On Tuesday, January 11, 2011 of Bethesda, MD died unexpectedly in
her home; loving wife to Robert for 59 years who predeceased her;
mother to Ronald, Jeanne Smith and Margaret Young; grandmother to
Andrew, Megan Adams, Christian and Lauren, Dr. Kevin Smith and
Stephanie Smith, Nicholas Young and Jennifer Young; great-grandmother
to Carter.
Pearl grew up in Washington, DC where she attended Calvin
Coolidge High School before joining the U.S. Patent Office where she
worked until the birth of her first child.
She then spent her life devoted to her husband and family and many
friends, participating and volunteering in many community activities with
her children. She was an active member of the Suburban Woman's Club
of Montgomery County and was a member of the Friendship Chapter
No. 17, Order of Eastern Star.
She was committed to her faith and was an active and longtime
member of the Church of the Redeemer.
Friends and family will be received at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy
Chase Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD on
Sunday, January 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service
will be held at the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, 6201
Dunrobbin Drive, Bethesda, MD on Monday, January 17 at 3 p.m.
Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Youth
Pilgrimage Fund at Church of the Redeemer.
