MARION NORTON HARDESTY, JR. "Nortie" "Ron"
Passed away on January 30, 2011 in Canton, GA. Born in Cassville,
MO on November 8, 1936, he moved to Washington, DC as a teenager.
He graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School, received a BBA
from George Washington University, and an MBA from Auburn
University. His first career was as an officer in the USAF. He was
honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross and retired as a Lt. Col. He
attended the San Francisco School of Art and settled in Sebastopol, CA.
Known for his wit, he was an actor and successful artist and
caricaturist.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Hardesty Wheeler and two
grandchildren Madison Wheeler and Eli Wheeler, of Canton, GA; his
sister Mary Hardesty Guindon of Taneytown, MD; two nephews, a
niece, and three great-nephews.
LTC Hardesty will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at 11
a.m. on April 6, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, family members request donations to the National
Emphysema Foundation.
