

Jesse C. Houston, 81 of Bluffton passed away on Saturday, May 14,
2011 at his home
He was born in Fredericksburg, VA on September 24, 1929. He was
the son of the late James Knox Houston and Tessie Lowery Houston.
He was retired from the Department of Defense. He was a member
of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was a US Army veteran
of World War II. He enjoyed sports, especially golf, and traveling. He
coached the Little League Baseball team. He was a member of the Sun
City's Computer Club and the Men's Golf Association.
He is survived by his wife, Jean West Houston of Bluffton; three
sons, Jesse C. (Bonnie) Houston of Ocean City, MD, Steven Neal
(Karen) of Crofton, MD and Gary Dane (Beth) Houston of Derwood,
MD; one daughter, Cathy Marie (Gary) Spratling of Tiburon, CA; six
grandchildren, Lisa DeHaven, Jamie Houston, Joseph Houston, Audrey
Houston, Jesse Houston and Megan Houston; and two great
grandchildren, Nicholas DeHaven and Connor DeHaven.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011
at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Rd.,
Bluffton with inurnment in The Resurrection Garden at Saint Gregory the
Great.
