ELVA JACQUELINE SIMON "Jackee" (Age 83) Died peacefully at her
home in Silver Spring, MD on Monday August 30, 2010.
Mrs. Simon, a fifth generation Washingtonian and a graduate of
Coolidge High School, co-operated the Meeting House Furniture
Company with her father, Harry Leonard Edwards until joining her
husband in the development of a District based beverage dispensing
company, Sodibar Systems, in 1948, which continues to operate under
the direction of two of their sons.
Mrs. Simon is survived by her husband, Alvin Simon; her passing
occurring on the eve of their 62nd anniversary of marriage; three sons,
Brett Simon (Robin Battleman-Simon), Mark Simon (Nina M. Wilson)
and Geary Simon (Summer Smith-Simon); seven grandchildren and one
great grandchild and a beloved sister, Beverly June Edwards-Floyd of
Fredericksburg, VA.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University
Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday,
September 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. where service will be held on Thursday,
September 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment George Washington Cemetery.
