Barbara Boren

Barbara Boren Watkins, 76, who worked for the Defense Department in the 1940s and 1950s and retired as manager of a military history typing pool, died July 20 at her home in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She had Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Valparaiso, Neb., and raised in Washington, where she was a graduate of  Coolidge High School
She was a former president of the Junior Women's Club of Silver Spring and   the Women's Club of Bethesda.
She moved to Florida from Bethesda in 1983.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James Watkins of New Smyrna Beach;  four children, Bruce Watkins of Springfield, Brad Watkins of Damascus, Marcia Burroughs of Clarksburg and Stacey Watkins of Apopka, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
