Alan J. Newman

Alan Julian Newman, 68, a pediatric dentist who had offices in Gaithersburg and Frederick before retiring in 1998, died Nov. 10 at Carriage
Hill Nursing Home in Bethesda. He had Parkinson's disease.
Dr. Newman, a former Rockville resident, was a native Washingtonian and a 1957 graduate of  Coolidge High School. He also was a 1961
graduate of George Washington University and a 1966 graduate of the old Georgetown University dental school.
He received pedodontic training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia before starting his 30-year career in the
Washington area.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Freedman, and a brother, Neil Newman, both of Bethesda.
