Maresa Burris Arringto

Maresa Burris Arrington, 50, an auditor in the Defense Department's inspector  general's office whose career ended after a stroke in 1995, died Nov. 10 at  Laurel Regional Hospital. She had diabetes and congestive heart failure.
Mrs. Arrington was a native Washingtonian, a 1975 graduate of  Coolidge  High School and a 1979 accounting graduate of the University of Virginia,  where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha social sorority.
She was a member of Washington's 15th Street Presbyterian Church, where she  had been a deacon, trustee, member of the senior choir and co-founder of the gospel choir. She also sang at other churches where her husband, Michael  Arrington, directed choirs.
She was a Laurel resident and volunteered at five elementary schools in her area as well as Laurel Regional Hospital. She also was a member of a competitive  trivia team.
Besides her husband of nine years, of Laurel, survivors include her father and stepmother, Ray and Ann Burris of Silver Spring; and two brothers, Ronald  Burris of Gaithersburg and Bruce Burris of Germantown.
