Katherine Marie Brewer Billings, 56, who worked at Giant Food as a cashier for 32 years, died of breast cancer Oct. 26 at Forest Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Silver Spring. She lived in Capitol Heights.
A Washington native, Mrs. Billings graduated from  Anacostia High School in 1968 and married that year. She worked at Giant until earlier this year, when she became ill.
She was a member of a Jehovah's Witness congregation in Seat Pleasant.
Mrs. Billings, who was known as Kathy, enjoyed watching British sitcoms and mystery shows.
Her marriage to Gerald J. Billings Sr. ended in divorce.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Brewer of Seat Pleasant; two children, Lisa McCallister of Greenbelt and Gerald Billings Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; three sisters, Patricia Price of Washington, Sylvia Catlett of Landover and Regina Bobbitt of Hyattsville; two brothers, William D. Brewer and Lawrence Brewer, both of Capitol Heights; and 10 grandchildren.
