James A. Douglas Jr.

  James Andrew Douglas Jr., 78, a retired cost analyst for Pepco, died Sept. 18 at his home in Rockville of an apparent heart attack.
  Mr. Douglas was a native Washingtonian, grew up in Southeast Washington and graduated from  Anacostia High School. He was in the high school ROTC program and participated in the Masonic-sponsored DeMolay  program.
  He attended George Washington University and briefly worked for Pepco before serving with the Marine Corps in the Korean War. He returned to Pepco and worked  there until his retirement in 1989. He was a cubmaster and Webelo leader of Cub Scout Pack 782 in Aspen Hill.
  After his retirement, Mr. Douglas served as treasurer and trustee of Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church in Olney. He enjoyed fishing and softball and was a member of the American Legion. He also was an officer of the Silver Spring Inter-Church Duckpin Bowling League.
  Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Herman Douglas of Rockville; three sons, James M. Douglas of Olney, John E. Douglas of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and David A. Douglas of Easton, Md.; and six granddaughters.
