HOMER (SONNY) SMITH - AHS Class of '56 passed away on
4-12-01. He was born in Alabama 7-16-38. An avid golfer and horse
racing fan, he was a member of Woodmoore Country Club. Sonny
founded H.D. Smith & Co. and was involved with the local building
industry for 40 years. He lived in Temple Hills, MD for many years and
was a member of Broadview Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife
of 43 years Ginger (Sanford) Smith, AHS '56, and 3 children; Deborah
Whittaker of White Plains, MD, Dale Smith of Gambrills, MD and
Douglas Smith of Huntingtown, MD
