| Charles Ralph Morris, 68, who worked for Safeway stores, died of congestive heart failure Jan. 17 at his home in Upper Marlboro. | |||||||
| He worked at Safeway for 35 years and then worked at Murray's Steak Warehouse as a security guard and at the Prince George's County Board of Education as a substitute bus attendant. | |||||||
| Mr. Morris, a Washington native, graduated from Anacostia High School. He served in the Army from 1960 to 1962 as rifleman in the Old Guard, the president's personal honor guard, at Fort McNair. | |||||||
| Mr. Morris was a lay reader, Men's Club member and committee member with his church, Forest Memorial United Methodist Church in Forestville. He also portrayed the disciple Matthew in the church's Easter season production of The Last Supper for several years. | |||||||
| He enjoyed bowling with a league, watching and playing sports, word puzzles, playing cards and listening to music made by his family. | |||||||
| Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara L. Morris of Upper Marlboro; three children, Terri of Upper Marlboro, Tammi of Waldorf, and Chuck of Houston; two brothers, Thomas of Laurel and Richard of Olean, N.Y.; and four grandsons. | |||||||
